Welcome.

My name is Rachel Alford and I am a graduate of Florida State University. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Media Communications and English (concentration: Editing, Writing & Media).

I have been involved with several organizations on campus such as FPRA and Zeta Tau Alpha, and held a position in my sorority's chapter. I wrote for the on-campus Greek newspaper The Odyssey. In the spring of 2012, I worked with professor Davis Houck conducting research for his upcoming e-book on public speaking.



I interned for both Hotel Duval and Soludos in their marketing departments, working with social media and special events planning. In doing so, I learned an assortment of skills such as photo editing, social networking etiquette, and an overall sense of working in a professional environment.



In the fall of 2013, I studied abroad in Valencia, Spain with FSU International Programs. From there, I travelled to Istanbul, Turkey where I earned my TEFL degree and taught English in an ELC program for children.

 

As a result, I have become aware of many cultural differences and have learned to adapt to new surroundings quickly. I am very interested in working with people and feel comfortable in a foreign environment. I constantly try to engage with new opportunities both in my community and on a global scale.
